This stuff works. We here in southern Arizona are already in fly and skeeter season (a bad omen this early in the year) so I was glad to buy this and try out. It comes out as a smooth white liquid; not as thick as 110% sunscreen, but along that viscosity. The lotion absorbs fast. There’s no noticeable scent, no burning sensation. Active ingredient is 3-[N-Butyl-acetyl]-amino propionic acid ethyl ester 10% aka IR3535, aka Avon’s Skin so Soft at a weaker percentage. Repels skeeters and ticks for up to eight hours. Keep out of eyes and off plastics.

Quite simply, it works great! The lotion is thick enough to keep from sliding off, there is no strong odor, and you are avoiding the potential problem of being exposed to too much DEET. It allegedly applies 8-hour protection but we sweat so much down here that I reapply every 4 hours. It is also alcohol free and non-flammable, another important factor when working with hot tools. Registered with the EPA as a bio-pesticide, it should provide a safer alternative for protecting you and your family.
